This sets us apart from most sellers: we do not blur fact and interpretation. The 24 signs of the Elder Futhark are historically attested – on weapons, jewellery, stones and amulets from Scandinavia to the Rhine. Their names (Fehu, Uruz, Thurisaz …) come down to us from the later rune poems.
Attested: Runes were first a script – for names, ownership, memorials and consecration formulas. The Elder Futhark has 24 signs in a fixed order, grouped into three „ættir" of eight runes each.
Myth-check: Casting runes and reading them as an oracle is a modern practice – popularised above all by Ralph Blum (1982). Even the famous „blank 25th rune" is his invention. Our sets therefore contain exactly the 24 historical signs and connect them honestly with their present-day use as a tool for reflection – with no false promises.
The gemstone rune oracles are made from real stones (rock crystal, amethyst, snow quartz, jasper, carnelian, moonstone and more); the signs are laser-engraved, razor-sharp. The wooden version is a set of rune discs in a linden-wood box – the discs are hand-sanded and oiled. Everything is made in our small family workshop in Alsdorf near Aachen. Each set is complete: all 24 runes plus pouch or box.
