Our Worlds

Laser-engraved on crystal glass, slate and wood – each piece one of a kind.

Sagas in Wood and Stone

The Vikings carved their stories into picture stones – riders, ships, gods and heroes. We carry that tradition on: finely laser-engraved on fine teak, slate and crystal glass.

Our Atli motif, for instance, tells – like the famous Gotlandic picture stones – an entire heroic saga in a single image.

Frequently Asked Questions

The essentials about our workshop, materials and custom engraving.

What does Glanz & Gravur do?

We are a small family workshop in Alsdorf, Germany, making laser-engraved gifts in the Norse style: slate plates, tealight holders, wooden signs, tree slices, mugs and pendants. On request also personalised with your own motif, photo or name.

Are the motifs historically accurate?

Yes, that is our claim. We work with genuine Viking, Germanic and Norse motifs and, on our blog, clearly separate evidence from myth.

Can I get a custom engraving?

Of course. Send us your motif, photo or text. We tell you honestly how well it can be engraved, and you get a preview and a fixed price in advance. See our Custom Engraving page for more.

Which materials do you use?

Natural slate, teak and native wood, natural-edge tree slices and high-quality Stoelzle crystal glass for the tealight holders, plus mugs, pendants and more.

Where can I buy your products?

Directly in our shop at glanzundgravur.de or on Etsy. Shipped from Germany, carefully packed.
